From what I have been told, it is generally up to the individual E.S. group. The key to the E.S.
is that they accept Theosophical doctrine as being correct, as opposed to the general membership,
who accepts or rejects any or all of Theosophical doctrine at will.
Now, do you believe that there is an aspect of the E.S. about which the members of the E.S. you
have talked to will not tell you, and won't even tell you that there IS such an aspect that cannot
be revealed until one is a member of the E.S.? If so, and if it were more than a matter of ceremony,
and ESPECIALLY if it is something sinister, then I am greatly surprised that there have not been any
E.S. members, almost all of whom that I have met are good and dedicated people, have not gone public
in disgust.
