Great words ! This is the true language of the heart.
Life is wonderful in itself, even if we don't understand it (or cannot understand it) when it hurts. And we will be back to the same eternal question : who is hurt ? Of course, always the same entity called ego, self, ... and as long as he is driving the car, that will be so. That's why, as rightly said below that :"it is usually through darkness and despair that most of us are forced to dig deep, to reconcile ourselves with purpose and meaning, to reconnect with the Soul". Every time the ego is under threat, there is a reaction which may open the veil. And as soon as the discomfort goes away, the ego takes over again and shut down the open window. This is why many traditions are calling for unceasing total awareness and for the opening of the heart. One need to be fed-up with the ego behavior to move ahead.
Most of the teachers (human beings who dedicated their life and activities to the Quest) - and our libraries are full of their testimonies - have explained their own experience, going thru the desert, living the dreadful passage thru the night of the sensations, the night of mentalization, ... up to the point where, from the densest darkness, the Light starts to illuminate the night.

But please accept that it is usually through darkness and despair that most of us are forced to dig deep, to reconcile ourselves with purpose and meaning, to reconnect with the Soul. If there is one part of this universe that has a purpose then surly all other occurrences or elements must exist to support it.

With a large portion of Love in your heart you can rise above judgement and see a world where, although you don't understand most of it, it feels real to know that it is all doing exactly what it is supposed to do. Of course, with our daily choices we must always do all possible to promote peace and love and work heard to provide for those nearest and dearest to us.
