Re: Theos-World Cardiff Lodge Resigns its Affiliation with TS Adyar

Today, the most significant factor in the future of TS is going to be
Internet. Internet has already shown its power of information distribution
in the last election. The tactics used in the election would have succeeded
in pre-Internet days and the sitting President would have been defeated on
the basis of (mis)information that she is sick, both mentally and
physically.

Recently there was a comment that in TSA, about half of the members are
members at large and not attached to any lodge. Such at large connection is
bound to be tenuous as is shown in the high turnover of membership.

The big elephant in the room is there whether one recognizes it or not. The
organizational leaders at all levels have yet to come to understand how to
operate effectively in the new environment where transparency cannot be
avoided and I am sure that the inner Founders always have a Plan B, and no
one should be complacent that the current structure can survive ignoring or
boycotting Internet or paying lip service to aggressive use of Internet to
further the interests of theosophy.

The organization as it is now, can continue to own the treasury and the real
estate; but if the men and women who are attracted by the objects of TS
ignore the organization because they can get all the support needed 24/7
from others on Internet, that too from around the world, they have close the
shop due to lack of customers!!!

Such closing has taken place during the time when Saint Ramalingam, who knew
of the plans of TS even before HPB & HSO were told. He was very explicit
that he tried to sell 'brotherhood' to the masses and there were no takers
and hence he had to close shop. (Watch his emphasis on 'brotherhood', not on
esoteric issues or breathing or meditation techniques, chelaship, etc.)

The current situation is serious and the silence of leaders and possibly
whatever they are planning behind the scenes in great secrecy is not going
to work because any cause or plan which does not have strong grass roots
support cannot succeed, especially for an organization whose objective is
not similar to those of business entities.

I believe, in the next decade, we will be able to witness whether present
organizational setup succeeds in the mission of theosophy or a new setup
takes up the leadership.
