Daniel
Here is a quote by AAB linking two interrelated concepts of the avatar together. One personal and one impersonal. Do these two concepts need to be mutual exclusive? Do we need to see the difference between creating a false personal God as opposed to allowing a supreme truth to ground itself in our personal lives.? The majority of those who post here because of there deep occult background may overlook the necessity of working with all groups of people no matter what level they are on. Not an easy task for those who may focus on the more abstract and arcane end of the spiritual spectrum.
Great quotes Daniel but take those austere and exquisitely beautiful truths you have just shared and try to convey them to the average man on the street. Ahhh- but is this part of the impasse we are experiencing here?
Abs works were an attempt to integrate the highest with the lowest and not simply be an advanced group of teachings for a small but elite group of advanced disciple of which I do not doubt you are one. The avatar because of his advanced nature can work on all levels simultaneously. From the supremely abstract to the common and mundane. All are worthy of spiritual guidance and stimulation even those who may in the shorter cycle appear to oppose these great truths of which we speak will one day embrace them as we do.
Â
"An Avatar is consequently a spiritual event, coming to us to bring about great changes or major restorations, to inaugurate a new civilization or to restore the "ancient landmarks" and lead man nearer to the divine. They have been defined as "extraordinary men Who from time to time appear to change the face of the world and inaugurate a new era in the destinies of humanity." They come in times of crisis; They frequently create crises in order to bring to an end the old and the undesirable and make way for new and more suitable forms for the evolving life of God Immanent in Nature. They come when evil is rampant. For this reason, if for no other, an Avatar may be looked for todayââ

Master Morya wrote the following to A.P. Sinnett:

. . .[Rai Salig Ram and the other Radhasoami disciples] say and affirm that the one and only God of the Universe was incarnated in their [deceased] guru, and were such an individual to exist he would certainly be higher than any 'planetary' [spirit]. But they are idolators. . . .
Their guru was no initiate only a man of extraordinary purity of life and powers of endurance. He had never consented to give up his notions of a personal god and even gods. . . . He was born an orthodox Hindu and died a self-reformed Hindu. . . . with no ambition to taint his bright soul. Many of us have regretted his self-delusion. . . .
