In any election where there are two or more candidates, there are going to
be differences in their philosophies, their capabilities, experiences etc.

That being the case, what was the point of her statement. She could have
simply explained that it was inherent differences and nothing more. Keeping
silent makes one wonder if there are other facts that she is privy to but
ordinary members do not know.
