We are too far removed from Adyar and since you have lived in Adyar, I
welcome any details you can provide about happenings there.

As for the secret disenfranchisement attempt by a handful of GC members, no
one can deny that it was indeed very very secret and even the long time
members and workers at Wheaton and other national headquarters around the
world and at Adyar, learnt about it by reading this maillist which is
fortunately outside the control of any organization or its leaders and but
for the discovery and the world-wide shock and dismay and negative reaction,
the small group would have seized control of the appointment of the
president by now.

Already the GC members have the monopoly of nominating the candidates for
president and not content with that power, the handful of GC members wanted
to also to have the monopoly of appointing the president, thus making the
president a puppet in the hands of a few GC members. The attempt to seize
control was also seen as a end-run after the election. The timing of the
move and the players involved speaks for itself.

Disenfranchisement is a very sensitive and serious matter in a democracy and
but for this maillist, it would have been a done deal in the December
meeting of the GC and TS members would have been taken by surprise and that
seems to be intent. Many members feel that those who attempted this secret
move owe an unconditional apology to members world-wide.
