Thanks are due to Katinka for the getting the excellent writeup from David
Reigel and posting it online. This will be a very valuable piece of writing
referred by many for years to come.
.
>From a practical standpoint, the first reference to Dugpas (Dark Powers) in
theosophical literature is in the ML to APS. It came up due to discussions
about the problems that TS faced. There have been further references. There
was also a reference by Besant that HPB was under constant attack from the
Dugpas. How can anyone forget the Coloumb affair which shook the TS to its
roots and according to CJ, poor Coloumbs were the catâs paws of the Dugpas
unknown to themselves.
.
Since those days, Dugpas have not disappeared. TS, since early last year is
facing a crisis of such magnitude that we have not seen for years and years.
I see no reason not to suspect the hands of the Dugpas behind it. Perhaps
many theosophists may have become their agents unknown to themselves,
because they ensnare their victims by exploiting their weaknesses.
.
The duty of every earnest theosophist, in my humble opinion, is to avoid
becoming as their agents, unknown to themselves, by sticking to few basic
principles - Brotherhood and Truth. By testing our ideas and actions in the
light of the above, may be the best protection.
.
Anyone wants add anything?
