If masters thought letters were useful, why didn't they send letters
through other disciples like Subba Rao, Damodar, Besant, Leadbeater,
Hodson etc.? Most of the letters were received only through Blavatsky
and that suggests one possibility.
It is possible that Masters were not so much interested in letters but
Blavatsky, in order to convince people, materialized letters.
Annie Besant and Leadbeater very rarely mentioned Mahatma Letters.
They did not consider Mahatma Letters as major source of Theosophical
knowledge. As far as I know, AB and CWL did not recommend reading of
Mahatma Letters. That suggests that AB and CWL knew that letters did
not have as grand a source as Blavatsky made it appear.
