  >They cannot choose both mammon and Parabrahm. Certainly not.
And what the book-seller experience is selling the best is what people
themselves think THEY "need". I call that what they WANT and DESIRES. What
they spiritually need is something else. They spiritually NEED to understand
to distinguish between true theosophical teachings and the rest. The
book-sellers appears to belong to the rest, and not to theosophy or
  Blavatskyan-theosophy, rather CWL-theosophy or Christian-related theosophy
with Messiah in the flesh, and sexual obscurity etc. etc.

But that is just my view.

Morten, I am always impressed to read your valuable spiritual insights of
which we need much more in this world. You hit the point in discriminating
between the freedom of the lower self and the freedom of the higher self.
This contrast is described well by Rudolf Steiner as the battle between two
world views: Idealism and materialism. HPB and Steiner opted for idealism or
the deductive platonic way of thinking (each thing is connected with each
  other thing).

On the outer, physical political plane (which the TS should not deal) the
battle appears between an universal brotherhood based on materialism, where
the economies of the nations are used to get maximal profit on cost of the
lifes and souls of men or an universal brotherhood on spiritualism, where
the economies of the nations are used to support the lifes and souls of men.
In the one option economy is used to serve each people, in the other, nasty
option the peoples are used to serve economy.
Blavatsky students should find out for which way HPB worked and taught.

Steiner argued that one of this ways describes the German soul.
