Theo,
I don't remember much of the "Vril" thing right now it was a passing mention many years ago (in the 1950's) here in America due to I think a couple of Hollywood movies and a few minor fad books. But Looking in a good resource for star names "Star Names -- Their Lore and meaning" by Richard Hinckley Allen,Dover Publications, 1963 ( a reprint of the 1899 ,G. E. Stechert edition) ISBN # 0- 486 - 21079 - 0. On page385the Akkadian name of Aldebaran was Dil-gan "Messenger of Light". This star is 28 light years distance from out solar system. If I recall correct Aldebaran is a Red Giant Class Star. It is described as a "Pale Rose Colored" star. So perhaps the DVD will inform why it can be associated with a "Black Sun."
Regards,
John
