Re: Blog taken offline?

Hi all,

Hans Kind is the brother of Jan Kind. The latter is a theosophist,
married to Terezinha Kind who is prominent in the TS in Latin America.
They met at Adyar. I know Jan. I don't know Hans. They are both Dutch.
Hans set the whole thing up. Jan Kind was acting as webmaster, from
what I could tell (managing the content - the technical process of
setting it up was apparently done by Hans). Hans and Jan are as
classicly dutch names as you can have.

I have nothing to do with this blog, nor would I have abruptly taken
it offline like this. I would have made it look better, keep comments
open from the start (disruptive comments can always be deleted later)
and told you all about it way earlier.
I would certainly not have pretended I only found out about it
recently if that wasn't the case. My asking John Algeo about it was
the direct cause of it going offline, I'm afraid. He had been working
on it but wasn't aware that it was publicly accessible already.

Further points: I would not have had it hosted in The Netherlands if
it was meant to reach an international public. Both my websites are
hosted in the US for that reason (not that I'm all that happy with the
host of my blog, but that's another story).

However, it is clearly no coincidence that the contributors so far
have included several Dutch people: Jan Kind, Ali Ritsema (former
Dutch general secretary, now living in Belgium with her English
husband) and Wies Kuiper current Dutch general secretary. John Algeo
is also involved, as is Betty Bland. There was at least one other
contributor, but I forget her name (the contribution was interesting,
but I hadn't heard of her before and I'm terrible with names).

I'm sorry to not have made a backup of that site when I had the
chance. I wonder when (and if) it will go online again.

The online projects I'm personally responsible for are:
http://www.allconsidering.com/
http://www.katinkahesselink.net/
http://www.squidoo.com/katinkahesselink/

I'm a contributor to two other theosophical blogs (started by Chris
Richardson USA):
