This is interesting point. Leadbeater had matured in occultism much by
1910. And with all the wisdom which he developed over many years, he
found it appropriate to promote Christianity and Masonry. 
Leadbeater himself was very wise, a genius. In addition to that he had
contact with the Masters and even higher beings than them. So ordinary
people won't fully understand all the reasons behind his decisions and
actions. 
I observed among people of different religions and lived among them. I
found Christians have much more brotherhood than people of other
religions. That is the reason why I promote Christianity. Probably
Leadbeater also found the same, and so involved himself in church work.

I think earlier religions will continue for many more centuries. TS
attracts people who are evolved and have that temperament. For masses
religion like Christianity is suitable and necessary.
