I have heard this before. I am not sure about it. Only a blind study can
substantiate it. Some years ago, one of my friends was saying that
vegetarians do not get adequate amount of protein to keep them healthy. I
have known several vegetarian octogenarians doing very well on lacto
vegetarian diet. Finally, only the individual can decide.

BTW, years ago I remember reading an article that the tastiest meat is human
palm according to cannibals. I mention this for info and no one yet has
offered their palms for testing!!!
