mkr, there is some truth in it.
The Adyar TS as it exists today was incorporated only in 1905 by Annie 
Besant.
So, from that point Beant is her mother.

The other question is, whether this TS of 1905 is the same as the Adyar TS 
of 1882 during HPB.:'s stay until 1885.
Another open question - of which I have had not heard any level-headed 
answer - is whether the Headquarters of the TS are today.
The final question would be whether HPB.: would today return to Adyar.

When I was in India, there were many in Madras/Chennai who thought Annie
Besant started the TS. Nothing should surprise anyone.
