If any nefarious deeds or misappropriation of funds or any illegal activity
goes on in any entity, in time it comes out and the perpetrators are caught
and face the legal consequences.

In my city there is a church type organization which is chartered and run
with appointed trustees and as such the church is not required to disclose
any financial info to the public. Many people who are envious of the success
of the organization have been complaining without the knowledge of the legal
requirement that the organization does not publish financial info. On the
other hand, several similar church type organizations around the country
setup with voting membership, invariably end up with litigation in the
courts. So there is something to say about organizations not making public
their financial information. Even better they keep a low profile so that
very few are aware of its existence.
