Chuck,
When you mention the Salvation Army, I remember Master KH's word on
them:
"Magic is powers over the forces of nature, viz., the Salvation Army
by hypnotizing people and making them psychically drunk with
excitement is Black Magic."

But I don't apply this on KT, hence I do believe that she was a tool
of the Masters (one of her missions was to work for the development
of ethics within the Theosophical Movement), but for different
reasons, she failed. Her attempts and ideas didn't work. But that's
another story as Kipling used to say.
