Daniel,
But Cooper did not say that the fake letters had to go
without proper identification, did he?
Although there are differences between the goals of a theosophist
and the goals of a scholar, both have in common a fundamental
principle: RESPECT FOR TRUTH -- and for the reader.
Misleading the reader as to the contents of a book serves no one's interest.
Although I view some editorial questions differently from John Cooper, I have to say that I received information from several theosophists that he was a honest and sincere researcher.
And, of course, you have Tillett's testimony stating that Algeo, helped by you, stole John Cooper's work on the "HPB lettters" and acted like a scoundrel with regard to John Cooper's widow.
Regards, Carlos.
