Fraternization
VERSUS
falsehood, ignorance & humbug??
Carlos,
You wrote that the three quotes I gave were too outdated.
Of course, you do not explain why they are too outdated.
Do you mean to say that they are not accurate statements
or just what?
Take for example the following quote which was one of the
three you commented on:
---------------------------------------------------------------
The Theosophical student of this generation has to guard himself
against two extremes: one is to limit the freedom of thought and to
live like a frog who looks upon his pond as the world, with nothing
outside; the other is to expand and embrace indiscriminately -- in the
name of brotherhood and fraternization -- falsehood, ignorance and
humbug.
"The Aryan Path", Dec. 17, 1935
----------------------------------------------------------------
Unless I am misreading what you have been writing from time to time at
Theos-Talk, it would appear that you must agree with this above
statement.
First of all, you appear to expouse "brotherhood and fraternization"
but then you also at the same time WARN against the "falsehood,
ignorance and humbug" of the Adyar TS. especially the
Besant/Leadbeater "falsehood, ignorance and humbug".
Now I know that there are ULT associates that share your opinion here
but I know that many of these ULT associates would say that one should
ALSO be aware of "falsehood, ignorance and humbug" of the Point Loma TS
especially of the claims made by and for Katherine Tingley.
Dallas TenBroeck has stated as much in the past on this forum and
others internet forums too.
You need only turn to THE THEOSOPHICAL MOVEMENT, the 1951 edition,
where all this supposed "falsehood, ignorance and humbug" is related
in some detail.
Need I remind you that this book is still sold by the Theosophy Company
and by local ULT groups. I have seen the book for sale on ULT
booktables. Surely the ULT groups share some responsibility for
selling and propagating the material in this book?
Carlos, if you feel a responsibility to point out the "falsehood,
ignorance and humbug" connected to Besant and Leadbeater, why not also
the same concerning Mrs. Tingley?
But if you feel that what is written in THE THEOSOPHICAL MOVEMENT book
is not correct or even "outdated" then I urge you to appeal to the
Theosophy Company officials to withdraw this volume which many
Theosophists, no doubt, believe is a "wedge" and "active sore" working
against "fraternization" in the Theosophical Movement.
