Daniel & the Ideal

Daniel,

Thanks.

Yes, I have been trying to live up to my theosophical/philosophical ideals for a few decades now.

And, as a matter of fact, brother Daniel, defending my Teachers (the ones from whose literature and examples I learned most in this lifetime) is part of my ideal and my moral duty towards my own conscience.

I tend -- or try -- not to silently hear slanders about those whom I respect. Especially when I to know for a fact that these attacks and lies are meant at poisoning the movement.

Once in the 1870s H. Olcott quietly listened to someone slandering HPB and thought it was not worthwhile to 'discuss' about that.

Upon getting at his home, a message from a Western Adept materialized right in front of Olcott. A very stern message! He got ashamed.

Many years ago, upon reading that story in the LMW ( whose reference I can bring here ) , I could see how beautiful are these two ideas we see in the "Golden Stairs":

"A valiant defence of those who are unjustly attacked..."

"A loyal sense of duty to the Teacher..."

I am sure you can understand that.

Regards, Carlos.
