LEADBEATER & THE KING OF THE WORLD

Friends,

Chuck says:

"Personally I find ritual to be on a scale running from boring to repulsive. I object to Leadbeater not so much because of his behavior because that is
long past and nothing can be done about it so much as that is ideas are just
plain nuts." (see below)

As to the 'nuts' ideas planted by CWL in the movement, there are, as I see, at least two kinds of them.

One is -- the crazy ideas already quietly recognized as such in Adyar and now 'erased' from Leadbeater's re-edited books; and in some cases whole 'crazy books' have been entirely abandoned, like "The Lives of Alcyone" or "Man Whence and Whither" (co-authored by A. Besant).

The other kind of 'crazy ideas' include those absurdities which have not been recognized as such by Adyar people. These include Leadbeater's ritualistic proposals involving "Christ" and "The Kind of the World" , "St. Germain", etc.

Rather than 'crazy', I would call this second group 'illusory' or mayavic.

Incidentally, the Leadbeaterian & ritualistic expression "The King of the World" reminds me of that excellent but sad film -- "TITANIC".

Carlos.
