Re: Theos-World Meditating on physical images?

Dear fellow Theosophist
I am a first time contributor to this webb site and I appreciate the opportunity to share some thoufht about the meditation on the Master in the heart technique. First let me say that it may be entirely relative to where you are situated on the path which may determine its usefulness. For those students who may profit from positive images of the spirtual life it can be a useful tool to direct ones image making falculty into new and more creative areas. An image according to basic Theospohical principals is composed mainly out of astral and mental matter. To say any given image is merely physical is to overlook this important fact. The Planatary Logos in whom we are mere cells is indicated to have visualized our world and all that it contained within it befor in fact it came into being. The differences are merely one of scale. As ones visualizations intensify and one is able to build with higher and higher sublane material the visualized image expands and takes on new
potency. Liberation is not done in one fell swoop but is achieved in increassingly small but subtle increments of magical building and alignment. The laws of super human physics, sympathtic vibration, invocation-evocation indicate like attracts like. If the visualization of the master is done with the right interior focus and with the right motive it sends a thread up through the confining ethers via the antahkaranan bridge that in time will gain the attention of the Master. The student may start with a simple visualized image but end with something far broader and more inclusive if they persist. As paradoxical as this may sound the student must do this work impersonally and without looking for results. When sufficient progress has been made the Master will contact the student. This contact will be a directional sound, quality of light or vibration occultly understood and not some physical picture. It is an important principal to remember in alighnment and meditation
work that the astral plane is a lower reflection of the bubbhic the plane of love, the lower mental a reflection of the higher mind and the students will a dim and vague reflection of the Will of God that has been stepped down and distributed by the Masters Ashram. Each Masters ashram is qualified by a certain level of vibration, color, sound, number and geometry. When the image of the Master is visualized with these correct signatures progress will go forward by occult law and not mere wish furfillment or personal need. In conclusion I would simply point out that there are no absolutes to this creative work. There are 7 schools of yoga and the the technique of meditation of the Master in the heart will have an effect directly determined by the Mind, heart and Will of the student who initiates this magical work.
Thank you for this opportunity to share these thoghts.
I apologize for any gramatical errors since my vision is not good.

          Dear Friends,

I am sure Daniel is not sowing dissent among theosophists, or trying to manipulate one against the other, nor exaggerating differences among them. I thank him for that.

As to meditating on Masters, the practice is not exclusive to Theosophical Movement. But that does not mean, at all, the use of 19th century portraits which were never meant to be put into the Internet by any clever "experts". What's the need for portraits?

Esoteric Philosophy teaches us that the name is not the thing -- and, obviously, the old outdated portrait of the physical vehicle of an adept is not the adept.

Better get in touch with one's own inner conscience and higher self...

Regards, Carlos.
