PERRY'S EXPERIENCE EVERYWHERE

Perry, Marie, Friends,
Perry's story in the Adyar TS in Australia has been more or less the story of many members of the Adyar TS, since 1900 and around the world.
With these words I am not saying or implying that only Adyar has limitations, nor that Adyar has not positive aspects.
In Brazil, Perry's experience has been occurring under different forms for decades with generations of students and workers.
In the early 1970s, for instance, Mr. Murillo Nunes de Azevedo was the President of the Adyar TS in Brazil.
He published in the national magazine "O Teosofista" an article (not by himself) stating that the Buddha, as a soul, was more evolved than Christ, as a soul.
Regardless of the technical aspects implied, that simple truth (Buddha's Soul is the Most evolved in our Humanity) caused a incredible revolt in ritualistic neochristian/neomasonic quarters -- so much so that Mr. Murillo nearly had to resign the national presidency. "How come anyone could dare say that there is another soul more evolved than Christ", etc.
Murillo did not resign; but his presidency was not the same any longer; he lost his motivation.
As I have a vast set of historical archives of the theosophical movement in Brazil, handed over to me by a past national president (Mr. Brito Pinto) and by other historical theosophical families in Brazil (Mr. Armando Salles) I do have all the documents and texts of this episode. Incredible stuff indeed!
(A recurrent episode which 'reincarnated' with other theosophical workers in Brazil in more recent decades...)
This is only an example among others -- an example involving a President.
In England, Geoffrey Farthing (a great student who died a couple of years ago) also had to face something broadly similar while he was President (National Secretary), as he told me in an written interview.
His interview is a fascinating publishable document which I want to share with you near the next anniversary of his birth, early December.
So, Perry's story is the story of many people. He is not alone in that. :)
Yet -- the Adyar Society has also many positive aspects and I am sure it can improve and correct its mistakes.
If Adyar members do that - and some of them are already doing so -- all of the movement will gain a lot from it.
Best regards, Carlos.
