COMMON SENSE IN LONDON

Dear Friends,

Have just received a copy of the Summer 2006 issue of INSIGHT, the Journal of the Theosophical Society (Adyar) in England.

On pages 20-21, there is an important article by Barry Thompson, Librarian/Bookshop Manager of the TS in England, entitled "Controversy:The Letters of H.P. Blavatsky".

The article is clearly favourable to HPB. Barry rightfully criticizes John Algeo for publishing slanders as if they had been written by Ms. Blavatsky herself.

Barry Thompson's article shows once more that there are many sincere students in the Adyar Society and that Mr. John Algeo is slandering HPB not only without the approval of Ms. Radha Burnier -- but also against the wills of many theosophists around the world.

In Brazil, for instance, Ms. Zeneida Cereja da Silva, first national secretary of the Adyar Society, wrote a letter to Mr. Algeo in 2005 protesting against his slandering Helena Blavatsky.

I hope John Algeo thinks better in the next intended volumes with Letters of H.P.B. His first volume has 20 per cent of forged and slanderous texts.

Best regards, Carlos Cardoso Aveline
