Re: The power of lower manas
Dear Laura:
Often we feel impelled to do a job swiftly and well because of our
experience. Yet at time that is not our DUTY, but that of “another” to
recognize the necessity, as THEIRS and perform (or not) THEMSELVES.
If we do it then we not only disturb Nature’s karmic pattern, but we take up
unnecessary Karma that ought to be a brother’s learning experience. We then
add it to ours. Yes a vast discriminative ability is to be acquired -- our
“failures” can show us in retrospect where we erred – and so we also learn
as we go at our particular “level.”
ATTENTION is the most valuable tool and so is DISCRIMINATION ( I mean
morally) .
There is not truly personal (Higher Manas) spiritual progress without moral
acuity and accuracy being developed. It is the “personal man” ( the 4
‘lower’ principles that benefit from this training, even while they complain
of the rigidity of such “working for others,” and “being one’s brother’s
keeper,” discipline.)
Would you agree ?
Love
Dallas

Dear Dallas:
Thank you for the Idyll of the White Lotus.
It is interesting that the only understanding of Theosophy must come from
within. No one can do it for us.
Do you suppose priestcraft is one thing Mr. Judge had in mind when he stated
that "the duty of another is full of danger." Is not the duty of every
human being, to evolve the mind and heart and it cannot be done by another.
You give the best help to all students as you bring together all the
writings in such a way that is helpful for each one and keep the focus on
the highest aspect of Mind.
Laura
