BRUCE, VOWS & UNIVERSAL PRINCIPLES

Dear Friends and Bruce,

I agree with most of what you say.

Yet I add that the question whether the vow is dead letter and blind obedience at the "eye doctrine" level -- or is a living process at the "heart doctrine" level, such question is of fundamental importance. Why?

Because there are people who are unconsciously pledged to the Good, to Truth in their hearts, with no need to utter solemn words about that; and there are also people who utter ritualistic vows and do not pay too much attention to them -- at all.

Words-level pledges are a tremendous "magnetic trap" for many a soul in different religions.

Clarifying this point, therefore, is a significant task in my view.

You remember the "unconscious lay chelas" mentioned in the Mahatma Letters, Mr. Bennet, the famous USA 19th century freethinker being only one example.

So Crosbie's example is just that -- an example of a much broader thing, a principle to be understood.

We should not DENY pesonal examples. But we go from them into universal principles, and use personal lives of mystics to investigate universal laws.

The "vow question" is linked to clarifying the Vatican's games of "religious" power. As we all know, other religions have similar schemes to keep political control of souls.

Esoteric Buddhism, Esoteric Philosophy and Theosophy are out of this.

Regards, Carlos.

Assunto:Theos-World Crosbie, Besant Just Distractions

> This concern over the Esoteric Instructions is simply a distraction. Trying
