I have sort of a modified version of that. Zone Alarm monitors things like
that and blocks most of them, and asks if something wants to send messages
out, and Spyware Doctor deletes cookies on it's own, and then informs me.
Zone Alarm has a firewall, and I have a router as a firewall, which is
turned off when I am not on the internet.

Dennis,
You don't have to have any cookies on your machine if you don't want
them
to be there. You can open Internet Explorer, click "tools," click
"internet
options," then in the middle section of the popup you see a "delete
cookies"
option, click that and then "OK" and all your cookies are gone. If you
have a
Firewall you can also set it to "Prompt" you each time a site wants to
place a
cookie and then you can make individual decision to allow or reject. Or
you can
set it to "reject" all cookies.
