On re-reading my above words, please understand I was not determining
that you wrongly understood the perspective you elucidated. For the
sentence to read as I intended, please insert "If this were" at the
commencement of the sentence!
When we write as we speak the intonation is missing and can sometimes
lead to undesired misunderstanding.
