NYC Theos Society

I'm going to the city soon and I am planning on visiting the
Theosophical society on East 53rd street while I'm there. It'll be my
first time there so I have a few questions to ask.
It seems they have meetings every once in a while, but are they open
to visitors when there are no meetings in progress?
Is their library open to the public?
What are the requirements/fees for membership, if any?
Is anyone here a member, so that I may schedule to meet up with them by chance?
I'll probably go late december or early january. God help me; I hate
taking trains. Otherwise I would've gone a lot sooner.
Thanks,
-Mark H.
