Dear Cass,
I whole heartedly agree with what you have said, perhaps this 
is the steep learning curve that they are going through,it may appear that I 
have been hard on the USA, I do not dislike that country it has given the 
world countless great things and will give more in the future that will 
benefit the world, to that I encourage the USA with its continous 
endevours,perhaps that it has so a diverse muti-culture with people taken 
into the country since its inception lies the root of the mistrust and 
mis-deeds that have occured. Where ethnic groups are pigeon-holed,treated 
like second-class citizens it is no wonder resentment, mistrust, self 
preservation and isolationism becomes prominent.Perhaps explains why so much 
looting, violence and breakdown of law and order has occured, where as in 
the UK,people if faced with such a problem would forget differences, 
bigotry,and cultures and would "muck-in together" as one. Obviously there 
will be individuals that are so entrenched in their ways that they would not 
change their way of existance. That is only a small minority ,thankfully. I 
am sure it is the same in Oz with the diversity of cultures.

it gives a lot of detail on how weather patterns arise how hurricanes are 
formed and much more, its free to register it gives satelite pictures that 
are truely remarkable.
one other bright thing from this disaster is perhaps the USA will now 
really get to grips with poluting the atmosphere and come on board with the 
rest of the world and activly participate in cleaning up the industrial 
polution that still being produced at an unacceptable level,
