Those who have first hand knowledge will not speak and those who speak on
theos-talk do not really know what they are talking about as Pythagoras's
occult axiom is: The equal can only recognized by equal ones.
One thing is certain: Occult knowledge comes not from book reading - but the
other side of the coin is - and most theosophists do not understand it with
their silly either-else rather than as-well-as logic - that libraires and
book reading has much importance in theosophy.
If this is correct what mkr describes - and I think it is - Annie Besant
would be a prominent example when the teacher withdraws His Avatara
knowledge from the chela and he/she in turn turn becomes a would-be-chela.
In 1894 William Quan Judge - tulku to HPB - withdrew on Masters order his
occult knowledge from her after two warnings because of planning and
executing a conspiracy against the Masters - the helpers of mankind - cause.
This resulted in the split of the TS in 1895. Mkr supports von Purucker, who
said that this split was engineered by the Masters to protect HPBs chelas
and the future of the TS. This view has some logic in it and constrasts the
view for example of the Anthroposophical Society which as Adyar renegate
believes that this split was intended.
The moral fall of AB is nevertheless - and this must not be overlooked -
mainly a tragedy for the messenger Judge and the success of the TM, but
personally one cannot blaim a chela that he/she has fallen as to try and
fail is better as not to try and fail.
