I can only speak for myself. I engage in trying to reconcile what HPB wrote about with what is happening with the latest scientific discoveries in paleontology, geology, cosmology, etc. For arguments sake, my latest project, is to learn about String Theory and its parallel dimensions as this relates to the theosophical concept that we are multi-dimensional beings. Probably as a novice I might suggest that the best way to start is to read about our bodies and how they function. You can get many on-line books from Global Wisdom and BN-Study. Others in the group are more knowledgeable in regard to the literature, and will send you the required reading. Dallas is exceptional at this and can offer many insights into Theosophy, as are the others.
I know that the majority of the theosophists in this group meditate. I do not. I have never been able to master it properly. I see meditation as focusing on a particular subject until I have a workable knowledge (not an expert knowledge) of it.
