Rare Large Quake Hits Western Montana
by Mitch Battros – ECTV

Just over one hour ago (10:08 PM mountain), a rare large 5.6 magnitude quake hit 15 miles north-northeast of Dillon, Montana. This quake comes on the heels of a heightened concern of the New Madrid Fault. Also, a growing concern with a continued series of 3.0 and larger quakes at Mount St. Helens.

As a result of what appears to be a discomforting presence of quakes in very dangerous places, I will have a special presentation show this Wednesday July 27th at 9 PM. My special guest will be Gary Patterson, seismologist with the University of Memphis Center for Earthquake Research and Information. Gary is the person who recently broke the story of the potential dangers of heightened earthquake activity in Arkansas and Missouri. And of course, this sits right on top of the New Madrid Fault.

“Deep Impact” Mystery Continues

A new release came out today from CalTech who is closely associated with JPL. Astronomers using the Palomar Observatory's 200-inch Hale Telescope havebeen amazed by comet Tempel 1's behavior during and after its collision with the Deep Impact space probe.

In the earliest images taken after impact, the photos show a plume of material extending 320 km (200 miles) from the comet's centre. This dust plume lasted for several nights, and allowed astronomers to measure its rotation. Two days later another, smaller plume was visible, which could have vented from an outburst of gas and dust coming from the impact site.

Earth Changes TV is the only news service to have broken the silence by conducting my interview with Lucy McFadden, NASA Scientist “Deep Impact” mission. She is an expert on reflectance spectroscopy. It is the use of “spectrometry” which is the most accurate for identifying particles. You must hear our interview. Although getting answers to many of my questions were quite difficult, I can state without reservation, this interview is the most detailed conducted by any news service in the world.

One most difficult question asked, and never really answered was to define the difference between a ‘comet’ and ‘asteroid’.

View these photos and you will know why…
