If you look at the writings of HPB, you will see there is no emphasis on
rituals with elaborate regalia. Influence of ritual side on the members of
TS started after HPB's time. The regalia and the rituals associated with it
may be very impressive and masses have been taken by them and that is ok.
If something makes people feel good just leave them alone. I do not know
much of history behind Christianity. But one thing is I have never seen
Lord Jesus Christ depicted in a regalia of a priest, bishop, cardinal or
Pope. So it appears that these are later creations that the masses have
accepted. I wonder if any serious student who is trying to understand what
HPB gave to the world and what was given to the world in the ML to APS,
will make much of progress in his understanding of theosophy throught the
regalia and rituals.
Mosques seem to have been not mentioned perhaps because they don't have
regalia and pompous rituals to keep the masses happy.
