>I also prefer a printed book, especially a paperback, easy to hold up with
one hand while reading. Currently, though, the computer equivalent of a
printed book is a poor substitute, but in perhaps ten years, the size,
weight, ease of use, readability, and other ergonomic features of a
computer
book will make it on a par with a paper copy of the book. It is only a
matter of time. At first, it will cost too much money for most people to
have one, but that barrier will go away in time as well, except,
though, in
third world countries, where anything that costs money will be a
problem --
but that's another subject.
Hi, Eldon,
This conversation reminds me of "Court Martial", one of the episodes in
the first season of the original Star Trek:

Kirk's curmudgeonly old lawyer insisted on having actual books with him
... didn't use the computerized ones.
Yes, I'm sure that in time, books-on-computer will become very
reasonable and very easy to use, but I'm willing to bet that a few
people will hold out for paper.
