Thanks for your reply Bart. No I think it is an hereditary thing. Every litter of pups she has, there seems to be one born this way and the others are quite normal. She has mated with her brother chihuahua (he only has one testicle) and one time with Smudge, a cross maltese shitzu. In every litter one puppy is like a long haired chihuahua (smudge's genetic bank) and the other a short haired chihuahua. The last two litters produced a chihuahua with this problem, Cuddles, had to be put down because she fell from the balcony. Regardless of their retardation, I love them, they are the most lovable, topsy turvies. She doesnt lack confidence as she is always exploring the back garden on her own, and follows my chooks about the place. Its like she gets too excited and cant keep her back legs on the ground. Thanks for the website I will go there later today.
Regards
Cass

There are several which could be of help, based on more detailed
observations. Is it tha she just can't do it? Does she seem to lack
confidence? Is it that she craves attention? Does she seem to be afraid?
The choice would be based on these.
