Yes, Gene Roddenbury ... excellent visionary. I've seen every
incarnation of his show, though I haven't seen all the current
Enterprise episodes because I don't receive that network anymore, darn
it. (no sock jokes, now.)

Yes, I saw many theosophical concepts show up, as you say, subtly.
But if you want to see theosophical concepts show up in a science
fiction series, and much less subtlety, and more obvious, you must check
out *Babylon Five*.
I've posted a brief review of the entire series on my web page:
http://www.godloveseveryone.org/reviews/babylon5ondvd.html
If you decide to purchase some of these excellent seasons on DVD (all
are available), please use the links on my pages, because working at
home on my web pages is my only business now. You'll find links to all
five seasons and to the movie collection further down on the page. (I
need to revise the page once I figure out why the banner ads don't
always display Babylon 5 content.)
If I had to choose between taking EVERY episode of every Star Trek
series and all the movies with me to a desert island, or JUST take all
the Babylon Five materials, I'd go for the B5 materials (even though
there are far fewer), because there is a much stronger emphasis on
spirituality in B5 than in DS9 (Deep Space Nine). (In other words,
quality over quantity.)
Another nice thing about B5 is that Writer-Creator J. Michael
Straczynski actually envisioned all five years of the TV series before
he filmed the pilot, so you see things in the first episode that hint at
the final resolution.
Even the conflict between good and evil emphasizes that there is a
grayness inbetween, and that each side has a bit of each.
And, if you enjoy shows with spiritual (and spirited) content, you might
also check out href="http://www.godloveseveryone.org/reviews/Wonderfalls.html">Wonderfalls

of Arcadia. And good news, href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0007CEXTK/qid=1113687527/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/002-4659605-8696068?v=glance&s=dvd&n=507846">Highway
to Heaven is coming out on DVD soon.
