Hi Leon,
Ever considered the guy who writes Deep Space Nine - Roddenbury I think his name is? I see many theosophical ideas subtly expressed in that show. I hope it would be about theosophy and not the TS, perhaps it could end at the formation of the TS in New York? I know I would like to see Bates, Pacino, De Niro,Billy Bob Thornton, have the perfect guy in mind for Leadbeater but cant think of his name. Is Richard Harris still alive? Peter O'Toole, the silence of the lambs guy, Ben Kingsley, would be great masters. There are some great tv actors if it became a tv movie. Maybe Trump could play Leadbeater, you're fired! but that isnt who I was thinking of. Susan Sarandon would make a great AB. I am just dreaming away here.
Perhaps we could project HPB into the 22nd Century, after the devastation of Earth (simile to Atlantis), but situated in Venus or Mercury - wherever we are meant to go after Earth. Perhaps the Earth could be the decaying Moon seen from Venus/Mercury.
What sort of funding are you talking about. Here, they have a scheme where people buy shares in a movie, if it succeeds they get a dividend, if not, well, I suppose its like buying a race horse, you dont know its a winner until after the winning post, but up until that time you have to feed and train it.
Would also be good to see the Destruction of Earth, Bates telling Seven of Nine, why and how it came about, etc etc.
Good luck

We've been working on it since 1975, and Bates would be a good candidate for
the lead role -- but have yet to find a suitable script that would make a good
movie for theatrical release, or even a stage play suitable for Broadway. As
for who would play Judge, Olcott, Besant Leadbeater, KH, M, etc. -- that's
all up for grabs depending on the story (and the budget) -- which could be
limited to any portion of HPB's adventurous life or a full epic biographical
approach. Problem is maintaining an underlying pure theosophical philosophical
basis that would "entertain," "teach" subliminally or metaphorically, and awaken
interest in theosophy -- without an obvious New Age "message" that would
trigger a religious or political backlash. For our professional interest, a
suitable picture would have to have the same character and big screen impact as Star
Wars, the Matrix, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Master and Commander, etc.
-- so as to attract the largest audience possible. All ideas from story-line
and development to preproduction financing welcome.
