online help for writing better, another book ref

"A Writer's Reference" appears to be an expensive book. She has another bestseller called "Rules for Writers" which is about one-fourth the price. You can read about it here:

The nice thing about both links is that you can read sample pages from the book, or if you go to www.a9.com and search for particular words, you might be able to get actual pages from her book that relate to your question. Search "writers diana hacker dangling participle" and you might get back some interesting pages about dangling participles.
