Dear Anand
My understanding is the reason HPB took meat and cigarettes was that her bodies needed to be grounded (made coarse) so that she could continue the work here she had to do.
Because she ate meat doesnt automatically infer that she enjoyed it or thatit was her choice. According to what I have read, all bodies need to be purified, but this does not mean that the physical body is the first in line for purification. Others may eat meat and still be working on the purification of their emotional or mental bodies. When the emotional and mental bodies are purified there will come a time when the eating of flesh will beunnecessary, as compassion will be aroused (emotional) and understanding will be aroused to see that all life is sacred and is to be honoured by allowing any species the right to live their life, without fear, from beginningto ending (mental). At the moment these group souls are, sadly, learning about sacrificing their life so that other species may fulfill theirs.
