> There is a tv show, inside the actors studio, and all guests are asked, "when you get to the pearly gates and God is there to meet you, what question would you ask god" Do they speak good English here?

Hi, Cass, that's the kind of joke I love, the kind that I have to read two or three times to get it.

At first, I read it and wondered, "What's wrong with that question?" (Must be the fact that I live in Arkansas now rubbing off on me.)

Finally, I remembered my high school English (from too many years ago) ... and realized that grammatically, it would be, "Do they speak English well here?"

Anyway, you remind me of the Baptist minister who asked me 20 years ago why I was reading the Amplified Bible. He insisted that the only true Bible was the King James Version. I didn't bother asking him if he ever read it in the original Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic.

Thanks for the wonderful grin that showed up on my face this evening.
