Dear steven:

I would not dream of setting up the modern THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY as any kind
of a model.

What I meant is that no organization can take the karma of an individual.

We all progress or retrogress according to our own choices. We make them as
Manasic (Mind) -- beings.

But Manas is of necessity dual, because it is that bridge that unites the
consciousness of the personality (sometimes called the 'brute,') and that of
the DIVINE INDIVIDUALITY (sometimes called at its highest level the HIGHER
SELF).

Blind loyalty is not a consideration, but respect is when due. A gate keeper
is to worthy of any more respect than he merits by being trusted with that
position. He can be possibly, faithless to that minor trust.

Best wishes,

Dallas

Dal-You say:"But it is a rule (I believe) that in the area which is
commonly referred to as "spiritual progress," everyone
is "on his own."

I really do not see how (what I see as)the indisputable point
you make, impacts the issue of individuals and a "Society" called
Theosophical, when they insist upon ignoring the very basis for the
definition of what it is to be Theosophical (especially since they
call themselves that). Yes, they are all free to ignore that
definition, as presented by HPB and other thoughtful thinkers of the
Movement, but the consequences are unavoidable.
Those consequences are such that the Movement in general is less
powerful than it aught to be, had such narrowness of mind not
occurred. I know that it would be foolish of me to think that this
Movement should succeed where none others have, in its effect upon
the amelioration of human suffering, but the reasons and causes of
such failure belongs to those individuals, all of whom have the free
will to do what they will.

According to HPB, Mr. Judges "The Path" magazine "is pure Buddhi"
and the fact that a sizable portion of the world's so-called
Theosophists (those in the Society), ignore him and his work is very
odd.

We, therefore, as students have the obligation to call things as
they are, if no other reason, than to educate those suffering from
such ignorance. But our responsibility is also based in our
allegiance to those behind the Theosophical Movement for whom
Mr.Judge was a representative in the world. Therefore, to slight one
such as he, is to slight them. This is not the blind loyalty of our
culture to Religion, or political party, etc., but a loyalty to those
whose lives are dedicated to our Spiritual well being. In this sense,
through attending to Mr. Judge's work, yearly around March 21, we are
acknowledging those behind him.

Steve
