His break was unrelated to the Leadbeater affair, though there is evidence that he did not get along with CWL. His issues with the TS were philosophical and process oriented. His "Truth is a Pathless Land" speech is a good summation of where he was at at the time.

Are his teachings contra to Theosophy? As what I have read from him is that he is concerned about getting people to wake up to the workings of the ego/personality. And the illusion of the Known. Does he posit a "something else" outside of the illusion. In other words, is the Self, a composite of Higher and Lower Manas for him, as all I read about is concerning Lower Manas but can find no reference to anything beyond Lower Manas in his teachings.
