KRISHNAMURTI

Does anyone know the reasons why Krishnamurti broke away from the TS Society? (besides the Leadbeater affair).

Are his teachings contra to Theosophy? As what I have read from him is that he is concerned about getting people to wake up to the workings of the ego/personality. And the illusion of the Known. Does he posit a "something else" outside of the illusion. In other words, is the Self, a composite of Higher and Lower Manas for him, as all I read about is concerning Lower Manas but can find no reference to anything beyond Lower Manas in his teachings.
