Konstantin,
Thanks for your comments. Just a comment that is not on the same
wave-length exactly about a Temple I was in on occasion. I went to the Northern
California Mahayana Ch'an Monastery and University years ago at Talmidge California.
I was taken alone into the main Temple with the "clock Monk" and the other
senior Monk, as we waited for the Tripitiaka master to arrive I was
appreciating the very large dominating Statue of the Buddha all in Gold, on his left
forearm was a pristine White folded cloth, the forearm crossing across his chest.
I asked the Clock Monk "Why is the Buddha Gold?" He answered "I don't know." I
then asked him "Why is the Buddha proferring the folded White Cloth?" again
he answered "I don't know." I then wondered if he was just being "Ch'an" with
me or if it was really possible he didn't know the "why" to these two
questions. So for the members and you, what do you people think the Theosophical
answer to the two questions might be?
John
