Yes. Now our Moscow Theosophical Society works without any president
or other officials. Several years of work have shown that it made the
spirit in the society much better. 10 years ago we had a bitter
experiense with president of Russian Theosophical Society. There were
many who weren't content of his work and it was decided that he should
resign. For instance the office of the society was used for trading
food products including canned meat, while most of members were
vegetarians and didn't know about it. But he managed so that he didn't
return the library, archives and other property of the society.
So the members decided that there shouldn't be any presidents or other
people who concentrate all the power in their hands anymore.
Of course, there are several enthusiasts who run most of the work, but
they can't give any orders to others. They simply talk about the work
done and discuss the further work on the general meetings.
Nor the Moscow Theosophical Society is regarded anymore as the
superior society for the societies in other cities. Now Russian
Theosophical Society exists as a confideration of lodges only, though
the connection between them is often too loose. Yet the state of
affairs is much better than was before.
