My views are:

I have said this before.
I find it quite important at this place to consider how
we - if possible - can reshape the present set of circumstances
surrounding the theosophical cause while relating 
the various theosophical /esoterical groups and offshoots.

And I know that other members have the same view.

******* The question is how to promote theosophy today while learning from its history and teaching. *******

I am - for instance - talking about the time periods 1875-1891, and 1891-1934, and 1934-2005.
And other periods as well.

What I am aiming at is a thread on what we can learn on promoting theosophy 
from comparing the differences + similarities
in the teachings and literary outlets as well as organizational activities etc. at
both the 
- Core HPB followers
- Core HPB + CWL + Besant etc. followers
- Core Alice A. Bailey followers
- And other groups both within theosophical terminology 
- And the impact groups outside of it has had on the theosophical cause.

I know that we are a mixed group at this place. So a few words might be helpful...

Such a thread is not aiming at making the participants emotional
because differences in views are expressed.
Such a thread is neither aiming at attacking any persons
dead or alive.

The threads cause is to create compassion while differences in
opinion and views are expressed.
Such a thread will perhaps test some of the participants level of emotional control and the like,
but this will be seen as a part of a development.

( I will how ever keep the following mind. Thinking about the importance of the idea and the healthy fruits such a debate could create. I feel a need to create a better forum,
which will be more flexible than the one we are using now. Like the one at http://www.godulike.co.uk/phpBB2/ or http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum/index.php?act=idx or like here http://www.healthypages.net/forum/tm.asp?m=81544&mpage=1&#101138. 
My view is: There is a spiritual need to create a better forum similar to Theos-Talk.)

I find the above article on Annie Besant
a quite interesting read.

She was a really active woman, I think we in a certain sense can agree upon that.
She was doing politics while at the same time 
promoting a Messiah or Meitreya by the name known to us as Krishnamurti.

She was wearing one set of clothes in one country and another set in 
the other.
She spoke with one voice in one country and another in another country -
while relating to the culture of the country.
Because it has been said that each country works out its own destiny.

But today we have different situation.
We cannot say that each country works out its own destiny.

We can now say that the planet as a whole works out its destiny.
At this is why I ask myself: How do we relate to that?

The various cultures are now not being left alone anymore.
They are clashing with each other - more and more each day.
This is caused by the fast transportation, the technology of computers
and machines etc and other kinds of scientific inventions and productions
of new goods.

I ask you all:
- Can you promote theosophy TODAY without relating yourselves to the overall
view of what is going on - at this place we call Earth?
- Should you only promote theosophy while keeping the Seekers down in 
a cultural narrow-minded mindsets and thought-patterns?
- Should you only promote theosophy as a glamour teaching revealing
a false picture of the realities of the theosophical past and false picture of its teachings?
And while doing that seeking to keep the new Seekers minds from thinking about the 
truth - and the truth about the faults surrounding certain high ranking
present and past theosophical leaders and teachers - while glamorizing them?
--- There is glamour vs. content - and then there is the act of being realistic about it all in a global massmedia society called Earth ---
