Dear Cass:

You ask if "You said that THEOSOPHY teaches that the ATMA, the HIGHER SELF
of each human being is such an "avatar." Can we believe in that? Can we
begin to act as though we were the custodians, guardians and helpmates of
THAT which represents the utmost
perfection of the Universe? This is something to ponder and meditate on. "

I would answer that if those were not present both as universal and as
individual facts principles, -- then our life and thinking and
philosophizing would be quite useless.

Here is one of my IDEAS

I want to make up a simple list of those things that distinguish THEOSOPHY
from other things.

How and where to begin?

--------------------------

3 Fundamentals (some one-liners )

0	ETERNAL ABSOLUTE BACKGROUND - SPACE
Radiates cyclically under Karma innate to it.
Causeless Cause. OM TAT SAT

1	Universal One Spirit - ONE CONSCIOUSNESS
many "rays" and "sparks." "Sattva" - Purity.

2	uniform Law of cooperation and interaction from atom to
galaxy
Karma	as justice for all - harmony and symphony of
discords.
"Rajas" - universal activity.

3	Evolution of intelligence from potential to actual covering
all aspects of "matter." "Tamas" - inertia, isolation.

Reincarnation as process for all beings.

Nothing is killed in its essence though the body may be.

Egos return to rebuild civilizations.

7 Principles - Robes of substance and matter - Brief explanations

(1) Presence of ATMA - HIGHER SELF. Within every human as we as
throughout the Universe, in every "life-atom," every Star," every Galaxy.

(2) Acquisition of BUDDHI - wisdom - this is experience,
individual and collective, as well as total knowledge of Akasa.

(3) Freedom and independent cooperation of all THINKERS.
Master Plan in the UNIVERSAL MIND. Spiritual Independence. Always
cooperative, because righteous morally.

(4) Desire Nature is the basis for apparent "separation" of
individuals, but deep thought (meditation) shows the essential UNITY of all,
and interdependence because of innate nature, [Each Monad mirrors the
Universe, and every one else. Isolation and selfishness is ultimately
impossible. False ideas of selfish sensual existence, create all pain and
suffering.]

(5) Life principle universal and impersonal - universally
sensitive and protective of every Monad -- hence Karma is rigid and exact
response to every choice a person / thinker makes.

(6) "Astral Body / Light" -- electro-magnetic lattice or
frame-work for the "physical" - Retention of images of all desires, thoughts
and deeds. Basis for Karma as a universal, inescapable and ineffaceable
record.

(7) Physical form -- a reflection of all the above in our present
kind of "matter." The Incarnation of a Spiritual Being into "our matter"
brings its rectifying power -- it acts like a "Tutor" and an "advisor," or
an inspirer -- through the "voice of Conscience" but has no power to enforce
virtuous decisions and actions.

Monads as universally present and each is an immortal "mirror" in capacity
and potential of its Universe -- forever independently alive and active;
Capacity for becoming a willing voluntary assistant to Nature - "Time" is no
factor. Immortal Pilgrims assist all Monads as pupil/teachers.

Initiation is evoking the wisdom inherent in each Monad / Thinker. Making it
aware of its potential and of disciplines it can self-impose to enable rapid
development of its own capacities in company of others. -

BROTHERHOOD

Reincarnation as a fact for the total schooling of immortals and developing
a sense of universal responsibility.

Virtue is Law - eternal basis for all moral decisions -- basis for the
immense curriculum of intelligent progress -- equality for all.

Universal curriculum gives all Monads opportunity to learn all details of
life in and of the Universe -- develop the practice of innate WISDOM.

Triple nature of Mind.

(1) THOUGHT and MEMORY, decisions for

(2) Virtue. Higher Manas [Buddhi-Manas]

(3) Vice.	Lower manas. [ Kama-Manas ]

----------------------------------

I think this will cover most of the main ideas that distinguish THEOSOPHY
from other philosophies, religions and sciences -- I unites them all into a
rational, functional whole.

See what you think.

Dear Dallas

By the time I studied all your references I would be part of the 6th root
race. You might consider this lazy, but in fact, we are blind beggars
wondering around in the dark looking for the light. What was "truth" for
HPB is "potential truth" for those who cannot prove it to themselves.

Perhaps this is why HPB referred to us as Orphan Humanity, we keep looking
for our avataral parent and hope to meet someone whom we can trust who says,
this is the way. Is it so wrong to look to higher beings for direction. As
a member of the 4th/5th root race and probably 10,000 years away from
knowing the truth for ourselves. We, like Christ, are nailed to matter, and
no amount of study or meditation will change that.

Cass
our higher self will be the cause of our salvation;

DTB	WE'LL ALL GET THERE TOGETHER (7th Globe 7th Race)
BUT WE CAN STUDY HERE AND NOW IF WE MAKE TIME FOR IT.

HIGHER SELF ALWAYS INSPIRES US BUT DOES NOT CONTROL US.
(see S D II 167, 230-4, 254-5, 573, )
