Dear Friends:
YOU ASK:
The simple question was:
"can Theosophy evolve?"
As I have read several exchanges I notice:
THE ANSWERS HAVE SAID:
YES: from within outward -- assuming that the "spiritual" core and basis of
all life induces change in the "matter" and materials that it draws together
and informs.
It therefore draws attention to the un-dying and life-giving spiritual pole
of Nature, for which there are a number of designations (ATMA, ABSOLUTE,
SPACE, LAW, WISDOM, etc.,)
It holds that the entire Universe is made up of infinitesimal "MONADS" and
to these monadic units it attributes a polarity of SPIRIT and MATTER. That
these extremes might communicate in manifestation it is posited that
CONSCIOUSNESS and INTELLIGENCE coexists with them. This is designated MAHAT
(or the Universal Mind, the Planning Agency, the Law of life and fairness
enforcer, etc.)
There foe I gather:
1 If by THEOSOPHY you mean the statement of facts and laws in Nature,
then the answer is NO.
It does not "evolve." It is the Universal stability of the ABSOLUTENESS that
without any finite attribute remains as the "constant background" to
everything. Many systems of philosophy have given various names to this.
However those who know THEOSOPHY keep track of all changes and see that they
are added to the explanations and expressions of those fundamental ideals
and rules that govern the whole of Nature (that is: the Universe, whether
minute or total, and regardless of the substance or non-substance, time or
non-time, degree of intelligence or consciousness involved.
But, who are those who know THEOSOPHY ?
2 If by THEOSOPHY you include and mean keeping track of all events
everywhere and the changes made, and seeing that they are added to the
explanations and expressions of those fundamental ideals and rules that
govern the whole of Nature (that is: the Universe, whether minute or total,
and regardless of the substance or non-substance, time or non-time involved.
Then the answer is YES.
Lets put it in another light:
Question: "CAN MATHEMATICS EVOLVE?
If you mean the fundamentals axioms, assumptions and bases for all
mathematics, then the answer is NO.
If by evolving you mean that there are continually discovered new relations
between numbers, measurements, formulae, equations, etc. the answer would
be YES.
Does this mean that old rules and laws change? NO
It means that new ways of expressing the old bases have been evolved.
The same can be said for any of the fundamental philosophies, sciences, and
statements about observations honestly made and reported in any department
of Nature.
Lets get this straight: NATURE was here long before we were.
NATURE set up the best environment for each individual's living and growth
in whatever department or direction such an individual (you or me) may elect
to proceed.
Your question might be: Does NATURE evolve ? The answer would be: NO it
is ever the same and infinitely sensitive to all living beings and
accommodating to them all.
It has a single LAW (which includes intelligence, space, time, and motion)
and that may be expressed in a single word: BROTHERHOOD.
Consequently THEOSOPHY as an expression of this one FACT, would not vary,
but would try to secure the attention and intelligence of the least as well
as the most evolved minds.
