Dear Bart and Pedro
Doesn't it all depend on whether the "laws of nature" in theosophical terms, and not scientific terms, are able to use the carcass for the evolution of a soul that uses it?
As science sees nothing beyond the carcass then the requirement for life as science accepts it, is to provide just another carcass.

There are limits to speculation and I have reached mine on this
subject, Bart.
Several spiritual traditions point out, though, that the body of
someone who has undergone real spiritual transformation is a NEW
body, whose cells have been regenerated. I would venture to say that
the technology of cloning would not be able to reproduce such a
spirtually regenerated body.
