Names in the Subject Line

by Bill Meredith
My apologies to Pedro for my last post. After enduring a seemingly endless
thread on "Bill Meredith's Excellent Post" I know the feeling of seeing
one's name associated with continuing thought processes that one might not
choose to associate with one's name.
It does appear that some people use other people's names as a way of keeping
various thoughts, concepts, and ideas separate and readily identifiable. On
the whole, I don't think any harm is meant by most people who do this, but
the occasional "calling out" through the derisive or sarcastic categorizing
of one's thoughts by those who should know better is enough to cause one to
ask that one's name not be used in subject lines at all. If, at some
future date, some person should desire to know all that I, or Pedro, or
anyone else has said on this list, that person need only conduct a search on
the "from" line. Therefore, I agree with Pedro. Subject lines are for
subjects. Henceforth I shall make an effort to examine the subject line on
any message to which I respond for the continued appropriateness of the
words placed there instead of just replying to the text and automatically
leaving the subject line unimproved.
Thanks Pedro,
bill

Subject: Theos-World Enough of me!
Trying to honour the Buddhist tradition, I would like
to invite fellow-posters on theos-talk to help me
ending "Pedro" as the subject of posts. After all, we
are trying to discuss Theosophy and related matters,
and not the persons who are posting messages.
